How to roast Broccoli in Air Fryer

When you are ready to make these crispy florets, here’s what to do. To start, wash and cut broccoli florets. Next, mix them with oil, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

Once the florets are evenly coated, preheat the air fryer to 375F or 190C. Next, add ¼ cup of water into the basin of the air fryer under the actual basket. The added water helps prevent the broccoli from burning and keeps the broccoli tender as it cooks. Then, carefully transfer the florets into the air fryer basket and fry the broccoli for 8 minutes, shaking them halfway through. When they are cooked, carefully remove the broccoli and place in a bowl. Finally, sprinkle them with freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Can I bake these

Yes, you can bake the broccoli instead.  To bake the broccoli, preheat your oven to 400 F degrees. In an oven safe bowl, add a 1/4 cup of water and place on the bottom rack. Next, place the broccoli florets on a cookie sheet. Finally, bake for about 10 minutes or until the florets start to look browned around the edges.

Tips to make the best roasted broccoli

When you are ready to make the best roasted broccoli, follow these awesome tips:

Make sure to add water to the basin so the florets don’t burn and stay tender. For best results, use fresh broccoli. To save some time, you can use cut florets usually found in the produce section of your local grocery store.

Can I use frozen broccoli

We don’t recommend frozen broccoli, but you could use it. If you do use frozen, allow it to thaw completely before using.  Also, make sure you remove as much extra moisture as possible using a kitchen towel. The frozen broccoli will be a little bit less crispy and generally softer when cooked.

Can I make them ahead of time

These cook up very quickly. We don’t recommend making them ahead unless you want to add them to another recipe. You could cut the broccoli ahead of time if you like to save some time. If you do, make sure to store it in an airtight container.
