We also received some sad news today. we lost an uncle. Life is really so short and by the blink of an eye everything changes. I have fond memories of my uncle. He was always happy and jovial, always laughing and he always had a smile on his face. So always remember as much as we would love to flash around our material stuff nobody cares about what you owned. The only thing you will be remembered for is the impression you left on people’s hearts. So smile often, do more good deeds and most of all be kind. It takes nothing to be kind. One day you will also want to be remembered for the impact you made on people’s lives. I know this has nothing to do with Cauliflower with Cumin and Cream, thought I will share a little bit of wisdom. Let me get to my Cauliflower with Cumin and Cream Recipe. This recipe was given to me by my sister, when she still lived in SA, that was a while back. I think she got it from a friend. She often cooked it for us when we visited her. How I miss the good old days. It’s a very simple dish but it is totally yummy. I haven’t made it in a while but when I do my family loves it. I always serve it as an accompaniment to other veggie curries but I suppose you can have it all on its own. It will also make a great side to a meat dish.
You have to be careful when cooking the cauliflower. Do not overcook it or it will be mushy and not very appetising. So you have to keep a close eye on it when cooking. The cream adds a lovely richness to this dish. I added just enough to seep through the cauliflower but if you want it more creamy you can add more. Any Indian dish always tastes great with naan bread or roti but I guess you can have some Basmati rice if you prefer. I always add loads of cumin to my dishes but if you don’t like the taste of cumin you an reduce the amount.
