What is Chilli Paneer

Chilli Paneer is an Indo-Chinese dish. Cubes of paneer is coated in a batter and fried. It is then added to an Asian-style sauce which consists of soya sauce, vinegar, chilli sauce and tomato sauce. The tanginess and the heat from the chilli makes this dish mouthwatering.

Quick and Easy

This Chilli Paneer Recipe comes together so quickly with just a few ingredients. It makes a great weeknight dinner too. If you are using store-bought paneer it really does become a super easy dish to create. Today I did cheat and I bought the Paneer but you can make you own. It really is easy to make.

Cooking the Chili Paneer

You can cook a dry version of this dish, which is how I did it today. Alternatively you can have a more saucy dish if you prefer. The difference is the extra water that you add to turn it into a saucy dish.

Personally I prefer the Dark Soy Sauce for this dish. However, you can use light soy sauce too if you wish. The dark soy sauce is definitely richer, thicker and a little sweeter than the Light Soy Sauce. It is also not as salty as the light soy sauce. So I think it works really well for this Chilli Paneer.
