Easy Homemade Crescent Rolls
We are going to have a quiet Christmas. Although we don’t actually celebrate Christmas it is supposed to be a happy, joyous time and we therefore always spend time with family. We are sad we’re not seeing our parents this year. However, I will still be cooking something special for my family and my sister-in-laws family is joining us. We are trying to keep away from crowds and we are taking all the precautions as Covid is still not over. Just because we have been lucky and we haven’t had it that doesn’t mean we become less wary of it. Although I am not trying not to stress about it I do know that I have comorbidity and I have to keep myself as safe as I can. It is rather surprising that so many people out there don’t seem to take it seriously. Yes, there are some things you have to do. But when I see people having large gatherings with no social distancing I have to wonder what makes them so relaxed. But I guess each one to their own and as adults we have to do what’s best for us as individuals and take care of our families. That’s just my 2 cents worth. Let me share my recipe for these delicious Crescent Rolls.
What are Crescent Rolls
Crescent Rolls may look like Croissants but they ‘re not. Crescent Rolls have a soft, bread like texture whilst Croissants are flaky. For now I have given up on the Croissant saga and I took the easy way out. For me personally Croissants are a nightmare. One day I may get it exactly how I want it but for now let’s just say it’s take a back seat. Crescent Rolls you are now my friend…haha! They may look complicated but they are quite easy to make. They are more like pretty dinner rolls I would say. There are many recipes where you can also add various fillings to your Crescent Rolls. I think I may try that next.
How do I make the Crescent Rolls
I used a similar recipe like the one for my Dinner Rolls. I used a stand mixer and mixed all my dry ingredients. I then added the wet ingredients. It has to knead for a few minutes. The dough is then rested for an hour, like most doughs with yeast. It is then rolled, cut amd shaped. Rest for another 30 minutes and it’s good to bake. That doesn’t sound too difficult, does it?
