I loved the way these Crumbed Chicken Wings turned out, they are definitely light and crispy and full of flavor. I have tried so many different variations but I think I am done now. My son insists it doesn’t taste like KFC, I said to him if anybody cracks that KFC recipe then it will definitely go out of business. So he should believe this is as close as it will ever get.
You can use any chicken pieces that you prefer. I did use this recipe with drumsticks and thighs before and it was equally delicious. Although I have added a little bit of chilli powder to the recipe I personally think it is enough. If you add too much chilli powder it burns when the chicken is being fried and it is not pleasant. If you prefer a bit more heat rather use a very hot chilli sauce with the egg mixture.
The little bit of cornflour that I added to the mixture makes the crumb really light and crisp. Like with most recipes you can play around with the spices and see what works for you, as I always say there is no hard and fast rule when it comes to cooking. It’s all about the flavors and getting the balance right to suit your palate. If you do try this Light and Crispy Crumbed Chicken Wings recipe please let me know how it turns out.
